Career Connections, your local staffing and recruiting experts since 1990.
As a locally owned and operated business, we value every community member who has chosen to be a part of our team of professionals.
We are glad you're here!
During our interview process we get to know you by asking some general questions about your previous work experience as well as your availability, career hopes, and preferences.
We don't necessarily assess your suitability for a specific position. Instead, our goal for interviews is to gather information to fill in your candidate profile in our database as well as to form your candidate bio, which we will share with client companies if we refer you for a position.
In our interview confirmation email, we also sent you a link to take computer assessment(s). We know, no one likes to take tests. But some client companies require computer assessment scores, so, we recommend that you complete computer assessments. They are not mandatory, but they can increase your chances of being referred.
We require two supervisory references to be able to refer you to client companies. During our interview process, we may discuss whether or not your references meet our criteria.
Referrals are our most reliable source for high-quality applicants. We'd like to know the awesome people that you know, and we'll reward you for spreading the love!
$25 for a successful candidate referral
If we can't get a hold of one or both of your references, we'll contact you. No news is good news; if we don't follow up, you can assume we have everything we need.
When filling a job, we first search our database to find qualified candidates whom we've already screened. If you come up as a match, we will email you the job description and ask if you are interested in being considered. Your response is very important - we won't consider or refer you for any position until we know you are interested.
We may follow-up with a phone call to ask you some position-specific questions to gauge your interest after you apply for a job on our website and/or if we don't hear back from you after emailing you a job description.
We like to keep in touch, so, if we haven't heard from you in a while, we may reach out to you by phone to check in, gather any updated information, and confirm your current availability and job preferences.
A company or organization that has a staffing need and hires Career Connections to fill it (becoming a client of CC).
Report to and perform services for a client company while on CC's payroll as a CC employee. Pay rate, schedule, and job duties are determined by client company. Assignment duration will vary greatly, from 4 hours to many months.
At no time are any fees for our services deducted from your wages - we will only deduct legally required payroll taxes from your paycheck.
A client company hires you and places you on their payroll from Day 1.
Spend the initial probationary period (generally 90 days) of the assignment as a temp employee, and transition onto the client company's payroll if they decide that you are suitable for the position. Used by client companies who want to determine a good fit before committing to a direct-hire.
When one of our human resource managers "bios" you as an applicant, we refer you to a client company for consideration by sending them a candidate bio which includes your resume, references, assessment scores, and a summary of our interview with you.
Work 29 or less hours a week. Schedules vary; refer to job descriptions for details.
Work 30 or more hours a week. Schedules vary; refer to job descriptions for details.
We'd love to be able to update you on every stage of the hiring process, but due to the high number of applicants and job orders we work with, that is not possible. After you apply for a job, we may contact you if we have position-specific questions and we can't find the answers in your candidate profile. Otherwise, if you are wondering about your application status and haven't heard from us:
Once you go through our screening process, all your info is searchable in our database and we will find and contact you if your qualifications match those needed for a job. However, we have no control over the orders we fill, so we have no way to predict when or if you might hear from us regarding a job opportunity.
We love being able to place job seekers in positions, but our job is to service our client companies who need employees, not to find a job for each job seeker who goes through our process. The upside for you is that because the client companies pay for our services, being a CC candidate is completely free!
Most client companies request anonymity to prevent candidates from contacting them directly. However, some of our client companies prefer their name be included in job descriptions, which is why some posts include the name of the employer while others don't. We will tell you the name of the anonymous client company if they select you for an interview.
We always confirm your interest in and availability for the job opening before we refer you to an employer. Other than that, we do not alert you when your information is shared with a client company for consideration, but we will contact you if a client company is interested in moving you to the next stage of the hiring process.
