Career Connections, your local staffing and recruiting experts since 1990.
As a locally owned and operated business, we value every community member who has chosen to be a part of our team of professionals.
We are glad you're here!
An orientation is an abbreviated version of our standard interview process. It is typically done when we see you as a strong contender for a temporary position, where the client we are working with is comfortable with us shortening our processing by reducing screening steps. We will address your general preferences and how they align with this specific position, your ability to commit to the assignment details, and answer your questions. The orientation process steps only make you eligible for other searches where clients have chosen this to be an acceptable level of screening. Should you be interested in other positions that require the full interview and screening process, a team member would discuss that with you when needed.
Oriented candidates can be referred or offered a position once we complete one supervisory reference. You will be asked for the name and contact information of at least one individual that has served as a supervisor over you. Ideally this is a recent supervisor, within the last one to two years. Relatives, academic (unless they supervised an internship), and co-workers will not meet this requirement. If you have not done so already, we strongly recommend you give your reference contact a heads up that we will be reaching, out as it speeds up the response time and therefore allows us to refer you faster.
Referrals are our most reliable source for high-quality applicants. We'd like to know the awesome people that you know, and we'll reward you for spreading the love!
$25 for a successful candidate referral
If we can't complete at least one supervisory reference, we will reach out to provide an update.
When filling a job, we first search our database to find qualified candidates whom we've already screened. If you come up as a match, we will email you the job description and ask if you are interested in being considered. Your response is very important - we won't consider or refer you for any position until we know you are interested.
We may follow-up with a phone call to ask you some position-specific questions to gauge your interest after you apply for a job on our website and/or if we don't hear back from you after emailing you a job description.
We like to keep in touch, so, if we haven't heard from you in a while, we may reach out to you by phone to check in, gather any updated information, and confirm your current availability and job preferences.
An abbreviated screening process for certain types of temporary/contract referrals. This is more common for manufacturing/labor positions.
A company or organization that has a staffing need and hires Career Connections to fill it (becoming a client of CC).
We'd love to be able to update you on every stage of the hiring process, but due to the high number of applicants and job orders we work with, that is not possible. After you apply for a job, we may contact you if we have position-specific questions and we can't find the answers in your candidate profile. Otherwise, if you are wondering about your application status and haven't heard from us:
Once you go through our screening process, all your info is searchable in our database and we will find and contact you if your qualifications match those needed for a job. However, we have no control over the orders we fill, so we have no way to predict when or if you might hear from us regarding a job opportunity.
We love being able to place job seekers in positions, but our job is to service our client companies who need employees, not to find a job for each job seeker who goes through our process. The upside for you is that because the client companies pay for our services, being a CC candidate is completely free!
Most client companies request anonymity to prevent candidates from contacting them directly. However, some of our client companies prefer their name be included in job descriptions, which is why some posts include the name of the employer while others don't. We will tell you the name of the anonymous client company if they select you for an interview.
We always confirm your interest in and availability for the job opening before we refer you to an employer. Other than that, we do not alert you when your information is shared with a client company for consideration, but we will contact you if a client company is interested in moving you to the next stage of the hiring process.
